I want more gold medals – Enekwechi

UNITED States based Nigerian athlete and Men’s Shot Put Enekwechi Chukwuebuka, who won the gold medal, in what was his first African Championships appearance in the just ended African senior championship, Asaba 2018, stated in an interview that he aims to win more gold in the next of his career activities.

Enekwechi threw a distance of 21.08m to pick gold ahead of the duo of Mohamed Khalifa from Egypt and Kyle Blignaut of South Africa in his first appearance in African championships which means he is going to represent Africa in the continental championship next year.

While speaking to National Light, he stated “I am happy to be here I m happy to represent Nigeria, and my aim is to win more gold medals and to represent her on other platforms, such as the Olympics and so on.” He also added that he was happy and emotional that he won gold in his first trial of the event.

Enekwechi was the first male athlete to bag a medal and a gold medal for Nigeria in the competition.
