Catholic women extol Obiano’s feats

PRESIDENT general, Catholic Women Organization, St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, Ihiala Home and Abroad meeting, Patricia Odimgbe has commended the governor Willie Obiano administration for offering qualitative leadership to the people of Anambra state.

Lady Patricia, who gave the indication during a seminar organized for the catholic women during their August meeting at St. Martin of Tours Parish, Ihiala, urged him to sustain his good works.

The C.W.O. president asked for fixing of dilapidated roads, sinking of boreholes, improvement of the energy sector in Ihiala and the provision of more security in Ihiala.

She used the forum to further extol the governor’s wife, Chief Mrs Ebelechukwu Obiano, for using her Caring Family Enhancement Initiative programme (CAFÉ) to alleviate the plight of widows, orphans and the less privileged in the society.

Lady Patricia said the main thrust of their seminar hinged on security consciousness, and therefore urged women in the area to be security conscious at all times to protect themselves and their families.

She used the forum to announce that 38 parishioners were elevated as ideal mothers in the parish.

Speaking during the occasion, the secretary of the association, Mrs. Fidelia Udearu, felicitated with the awardees and encouraged them to sustain their supportive roles to their husbands.

Mrs. Udearu used the occasion to commend the governor’s wife, Chief Mrs. Obiano, for her heart warming care of the less privileged in the society.

Contributing, an awardee, Mrs Alice Ugonna, who bagged the title patroness of the C.W.O. St. Martin of Tours Parish, Ihiala, expressed delight in the award given to her by the church.

Mrs. Ugonna further felicitated with the Catholic Bishop of Nnewi Diocese, Most Reverend (Dr.) Hilary Odili Okeke, for his exemplary shepherding of the Catholic faithful in Nnewi Catholic Diocese, and the governor’s wife, for caring for the less privileged in the society.

Another awardee past president of St. Martin of Tours C.W.O. women, Lady Uche Afugbuom, who bagged the title “Nne di Ugwu” felicitated with Governor Obiano and his wife, Ebelechukwu, for championing the cause of the less privileged in the state.

In a remark, an Ihiala indigene, Goddy Uche,who was a guest during one of the women’s fora, urged the women to make judicious use of all the money they collected for the propagation of the Christian faith.

Other Awardees who appreciated the development efforts of governor Obiano and the wife include, patroness Genevieve Ujubuonu, Mrs. Angela Mbebie (Adadiogo), the president general Ozubulu C.W.O. Ambassadors Chinwe Igweonu (Adaaiogo), Mrs. Stella Adanna Chukwu (Nneoma) and Mrs. Priscilla Nwankwo (Nneoma).
