Man kills siblings over preferred television channel

The cold war that brewed among three biological brothers reached a climax in Asaba, Monday, as the eldest son  of late Chief Nwani Family of Ezi community, Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State, Philip Nwani, hacked to death two of his younger brothers for allegedly denying him the opportunity to watch a preferred channel on the family television.

According to family sources,”As the trio were watching the television, the eldest, who preferred another channel, made attempt to change the channel but was not allowed by the other two.The resultant hot exchanges of words led to the matcheting of the two, Nwayo  and Kingsley, even as Philip fled after the tragic act.”

National Light gathered that Philip was later arrested at his hide-out.

Kingsley was said to have died on the spot while Nwayo died on the way to Federal Medical Centre, Asaba.

Confirming the tragic incident, Delta State Police Command image maker, DSP Andrew Aniamaka, said the suspect had been arrested even as he described the incident as pathetic and tragic.

Our sources further revealed that since the demise of their father some years back, the three brothers had been fighting over properties, especially the petrol station hitherto run by Kingsley

When National Light visited a petrol filling station along Summit Road in Asaba, one of the properties alleged in contention, the place was under lock and key.
