Govt should construct more rural roads – Ihuoma Ngozi

ANAMBRA State has transformed a step to a new beginning.

We cannot forget the horrifying stories about Anambra State when children were being denied of good and sound education due to incessant strikes by teachers arising from agitations over poor remuneration and conditions of services, no good access roads,

no hospitals. Most dishearteningly now is that some parts of the towns still drink from well water and roam in darkness. During the time Dr Chukwuemeka Ezeife took over as the governor of the state, he did the much he could. Dr Chinweoke Mbadinuju, who ran a government that some people described as not too good in the history of the state was removed after the first four years. Then came Dr Chris Ngige, whose administration could be described as the most troubled, where for the first time in the state and nation, a governor was kidnapped right inside his office like a commoner.

All these were the horrible experiences during the past. I must admit that Anambra now wears a glorified look more than before. All thanks to Governor Obiano, who has done a lot both in security, agriculture, education, industrialization.

It is not my candid wish to confront the government with my problems but there is an aphorism that says once you meet the right person to tell your problem, you don’t hesitate. I implore the government to construct more roads and street lights in the streets and rural areas.
