INEC organises stakeholders meeting

INDEPENDENT National Electoral Commission is poised to ensure the registration of eligible voters ahead of the 2019 general elections.

The Electoral Officer of the commission in charge of Ihiala Local Government Area, Comfort Nyeh who gave the indication at an electoral stakeholders meeting at the council’s headquarters in Ihiala, stressed that the commission will ensure that all eligible voters collect their permanent voters cards.

Mrs. Nyeh announced that the commission will mocve its registration team to wards in the Ihiala council area to facilitate the registration of eligible voters.

She urged the stakeholders in all communities in the council to sensitise their people on the need to collect their permanent voters cards.

Speaking on the issue, the president general of the Mbosi Town Union, Sir George Obizulike reported that about 200 eligible voters registered when the INEC official visited Mbosi.

Sir George called on eligible voters in Mbosi who are yet to register to do so.

In their separate reactions, The President of the All town union Mr. Daniel Inochukwu, his Ihiala counterpart Mr. Jude Ngaobiri, Some All Progressive Congress(APC) Chieftains from Ihiala Local Government Area, Tochukwu Ikeh and Jonathan Ezike announced that effective Mobilisation of the electorate in the area will be carried out through the use of town criers.
