Imo guber: Ararume, Izunaso meet APGA Chairman

FRONTLINE governorship aspirant in Imo State, Senator Ifeanyi Ararume and immediate-past National Organising Secretary of All Progressives Congress (APC) Senator Osita Izunaso, yesterday held a close-door meeting with the National Chairman of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Victor Oye.

Though details of the meeting which lasted for two hours at APGA secretariat in Abuja were yet to emerge, it was gathered that the two politicians who are currently in a running battle with Gov. Rochas Okorocha over who controls the ‘soul’ of APC in Imo State were the ones who moved for the parley.

Neither Ararume nor Izunaso volunteered comments to newsmen who waited anxiously for some hints as both said their meeting with Oye was private, adding that consultations were still ongoing with another meeting slated for tomorrow.

“I can’t talk now. I have already said that. After our final meeting, I will talk. I am going to have another meeting on Friday and we will talk after that,” Izunaso told newsmen.

But a highly authoritative source, who was privy to the meeting, said Araraume may pick APGA nomination form for Imo State governorship election tomorrow, having registered as a member of the party last week in his ward as Izunaso also did.
