Buffon not happy after conceding goal

PSG goalkeeper was not happy about Stade de Reims’ early goal in his side’s 4-1 victory

Gianluigi Buffon is still as passionate as ever about keeping clean sheets and voiced his displeasure at conceding after PSG’s 4-1 victory over Stade de Reims on Wednesday night.

Xavier Chalaverin opened the scoring for Reims with just two minutes played, before Cavani hit a first-half double either side of a Neymar penalty to give the hosts a comfortable lead at half-time. Substitute Thomas Meunier then wrapped up the points in the second period with PSG’s fourth of the night.

But despite PSG winning the match, Buffon was still annoyed about conceding.

“I think we played a good game, and today we also made a big PSG history record with seven consecutive wins. I would like to finish all the matches without a goal,” he said after the game.

Buffon who is 40 years of age also urged patience in the Champions League  a trophy coveted above all else by PSG’s fans and Qatari investors alike, particularly given the relative ease with which they usually claim the Ligue 1 title.

“We must always improve, also in the Champions League, but it will be done step by step. In the Champions League, you need the best physical and mental condition.”
