In his address, Senator Victor Umeh,  represented by the Transition Committee Chairman for Anaocha Local Government Area, Chief Ejiofor, stated that the book focused on ‘the critical issue of youth restiveness in an era of unemployment and self reliance.

The Commissioner for Information and public Enlightenment, Mr. C-Don Adinuba, represented by  Nze Nworah, said efforts of the author reflected the initiatives of Obiano administration in the Ministry of Youth Empowerment and Creative Economy.

Adinuba urged the author to also explore the vast opportunities of the online media, pledging that ABS would partner her through its program both on radio and television.

Chairman of the occasion, Comrade Anigbo, spoke on restricting the mindset towards hard work, and implored the youths to steady their hands with passion driven works.

While presenting the book,, Sir Chuka  remarked that the slim but very rich book, Self Reliance Through Passions, makes an incisive foray into bestseller psychological writing. He likened to those of William James, Wiiterman Hunt and some of the Austria- American great writers of mid 20th century who made psychological writing popular in the United States of America (USA) at the height of capitalism and post World War 2.

He praised the author for indentifying with her passion in spite of her success in her nursing profession and encouraged everyone never to let the passion in them die.

The reviewer of the book, Chuks Osuji, described the author as an emerging first  time author who never left any stone unturned in her search for ideas and directions. He linked her inspiration in writing the book to a coincidence of intellectual and inquisitive contact she had with several of his books.

The veteran writer, elder statesman and public relations guru projected, would in no distant time, engrave herself among the celebrated creative female authors of her time, and a pride to her state, Anambra.

He said the 86 – page piece would have been classified among pamphlets and has four chapters compressed with what should have been expanded to over ten chapters.

According to him,in spite of this, “the young author carefully and painstakingly encapsulated a volume of information in touching different topics. Taking the reader through the essential imports of what self reliance is, it’s symbolic components- passion; two components that are intractably joined to drive one’s desire to excellence or failure: seeing eventual failure as a challenge to re-examination of efforts, evaluation of impacts of inputs so as to correct any observed shortcomings either in the planning or in the implementation of such a plan rather than permit self pity that would push one to hopelessness; the relevance of passion in dream actualization to passion hindrance.

He appealed to heads of senior secondary section and all heads of academic institutions to encourage students to have access to the publication, adding it is the only way its multiplier effect could be achieved.
