Obiano commissions new street lights in Onitsha

GOVERNOR Willie Obiano has commissioned new street lights installed along Ajasa area of Onitsha.

The governor, while performing the ceremony, said it would improve night activities in the axis and boost the economic engagements of the residents

.
He explained that he lived in the area for over 25 years and challenged the people to protect the installations to guard against vandalism. He said such a measure would ensure that the street lights served them well.

The governor also, advised the residents to refrain from dumping refuse in drainages to ensure free flow of floods.

Governor Obiano decried poor environmental practices among the people and stressed the importance of proper waste disposal in promoting healthy living.

He charged traders in Ajasa area to avoid displaying their wares on the flood channels and streets to create easy access within the vicinity.
