Teachers tasked to live by example

A former dean of arts, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, very Reverend Monsignor John Paul Nzomiwu, has called for the financial upgrading of teachers in Nigeria to enhance their productivity.

Monsignor Nzomiwu, who made the call at this year’s World Teachers Day celebration, expects the Nigerian government to emulate what is obtainable among paid workers in Germany, where teachers are the best paid workers.

The cleric noted that teachers reward should not only be in Heaven alone, but should start from planet earth, where they are working.

Monsignor Nzomiwu charged teachers to always lead by example to impact positively on their students. He further enjoined them to update themselves to enhance their teaching skills.
