HIS Grace, Most Rev. Prof Godwin Okpala, Archbishop, Province of the Niger and Bishop, Anglican Diocese of Nnewi, has said that the retiring Archdeacon, Ven Dr. Goddy Agba, used 46 years to work assiduously in religious ecumenism he chose from his teenage years.

Preaching a Sermon at St Mark’s Anglican Church, Nnewichi, Nnewi , Most Rev. Okpala had at a special thanksgiving service to mark the send off of Ven. Agba, observed the ups and downs that awaited those called to priesthood, which according to him, Archdeacon Agba endured with prayerful obedience to wait for God’s time

Archbishop Okpala revealed how he pulled Ven. Agba from Awka and appointed him the Admistrative Secretary in the Anglican Diocese of Nnewi due to the burning desire he ignited in what he was assigned to do, including representing him effectively at occasions.

He said that Ven Agba, in his 46- year service in God’s work, had no record of working somewhere before zooming into God’s call where he was loved and cherished as church teacher, Catechist, priest, Rev. Canon and Archdeacon without any question mark and wished him God’s continued guidance and protection but reminded him of the need to continue to re-pastor his future days as God’s retired ambassador in the society.

The retiring Archdeacon, Ven Dr. Goddy Agba ,in an appreciative speech, revised the genesis of love from Archbishop Okpala and wife, Mrs Eugenia Okpala, saying that the archbishop was kind to all especially to him and all around him, including the entire congregation.

He thanked all that helped him to succeed and promised to remember them in his meditation and prayers.
