Anthony Joshua named one of 100 most influential black people in Britain

NOW in its 12th year, the Powerlist celebrates Britain’s most influential people of African and Afro-Caribbean heritage. The 2019 list was officially announced yesterday, and we’re stoked to see that British-Nigerian boxer, Anthony Joshua made the cut.

Joshua is unarguably the world’s most talked-about boxer right now. With the WBA, IBF, IBO and WBO heavyweight titles to his name, he has built himself into an embodiment of black excellence, as well as a role model for black kids across the world.

According to Forbes, the 29-year-old earned $3.5 million from endorsements in 2017. This testifies to how much influence Joshua has, and with his eyes on becoming the undisputed world heavyweight champion, he’s showing no sign of slowing down.

Alongside Joshua, other impressive black people who made the Powerlist include more sports personalities, like former wheelchair basketball player, Ade Adepitan; record-holding sprinter, Dina Asher-Smith, and Olympian, Mo Farah.
