Another 100 youths to benefit from Anambra skill acquisition

NO fewer than new 100 youths from Anambra Central Senatorial Zone have been selected to benefit from the Anambra State Special Skill Acquisition and Empowerment programme currently in its fourth phase, across the three senatorial zones in the state under a three-week training.

The programme is part of the state government’s plan towards capacity building of youths for sustainable future.

Speaking at Abba in Njikoka Council Area, Anambra State Commissioner for Youths Empowerment and Creative Economy, Bonaventure Enemali,

who was represented by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Kelly Uzoh, said Gov. Willie Obiano places high premiums on the role of youths in nation building, adding participants to put the skills they would acquire to maximum use.

“Due to Gov. Obiano’s vision concerning the role of the youths, he decided to empower them for future challenges. The knowledge acquired during this training if put to action would enable government to achieve the aim of the programme,” Uzoh said.

The commissioner disclosed that examination was conducted to select the best candidates for the empowerment scheme to justify the governor’s priority for the best hands, stressing that participants who could not make it in the current batch would be enrolled in the next phase.

One of the facilitators, Chinwe Etuga, expressed satisfaction with the level of facilities and training available for them, promising on behalf of others to justify Gov. Obiano’s investment in youths by devoting totally to what they have learnt.

She spoke in line with another participant, Rosemary Mmaduka, who lauded both the governor and the facilitators for his kind gesture and impacting knowledge to them respectively.
