Anambra govt begins work at Nkwo Ozu, Ezinifite erosion site

WORK has started at the flood erosion site in Ezinifte, Nnewi South Local Government Area of Anambra State.

The flood  had in recent times, pulled down houses and washed away cultivated farm crops. To this end, the traditional ruler of Ezinifite,Igwe Sam Obika (Ezeoha II) said that the flood  claimed two lives of unsuspecting victims after a heavy rain and destroyed houses located within its havoc site.

Igwe Obika said  that the erosion had cut off the link that provided connection to neighbouring towns in Imo State and villages within Ezinifite town. He said that the area was a  major route to farm lands as they are known food producers.

The villagers within Nkwo Ozu Ezinifite have parked away from their abode to safer areas for fear of the erosion and  became emergency tenants in their hometown.

He finally reminded his people of the need to imbibe the think home philosophy to generate job opportunities for their youths, graduates and unemployed adults .

He said that Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State had encouraged serious farming in the state hence exportation of Anambra Rice and vegetables to foreign countries.
