Uyo referees elect new executive

Mr. Peter Peter has been elected new Chairman of the Uyo Referees Society of Nigeria. He was elected in an Election conducted recently by the Society.

Obong Tony John emerged vice chairman II while Patrick Okon was elected Secretary.
Others in the new executive which has a four –year term are Inemesit Solomon Matthew Assistant Secretary, Godwin Ukpe – Training Officer, John Udott-Treasurer and Mary Etung as Welfare Officer.

In his acceptance speech, the new chairman Mr. Peter, thanked his colleagues for the confidence reposed on him to run the affairs of the society for the next four years, promising to run an open door policy that will involve every member in order to move the society forward.

He also said that Uyo Society, as the mother of all societies in the state, will continue to keep the flag flying.
He further advised members to shun corruption and bad behaviours, saying they should aim to build a strong society in order to attract interested members of the public to join in the organisation which he described as noble.

Retuning officer, Obong E. E Ebito, described the election as fair and used the occasion to thank the outgone executive for their performance. He urged the new executive to have interest of the society always at heart.
