Anambra lawmakers pass 2019 Budget

THE sixth Assembly in Anambra State,Thursday, passed into law, the 2019 Budget.

Chairman of the Committee on Finance and Appropriation, Chris Obinna Emeneka, read the report of the committee on the bilateral budget defense and discuss with ministries which was concluded last week.

Having reviewed the budget, necessary adjustments and recommendations were made and approved by the house members.

The Committee on Finance and Appropriation, through its chairman, expressed appreciation to the speaker and the entire members of the House for the opportunity to serve.

They also thanked the staff of the House of Assembly for their cooperation.

Pete Ibida made the presentation of the report on behalf of the committee.

Speaker, Anambra State House of Assembly, Rita Maduagwu, in her speech, commended the members for the successful passage of the budget.

“I commend you all for your bold effort in passing the 2019 appropriation bill judiciously. You have indeed exhibited an uncommon sacrifice and commitment to duty. You have also fulfilled your promise to Ndi Anambra of your immense contribution to their well being.”

“I commend the chairman of the Committee on Finance and Appropriation and his members and other chairmen of other committees for coordinating and supervising the budget defense till its passage.

“I commend the Clark and all the staff of the legislature for the wonderful role you played in the whole budget process.

“With the passage of the 2019 Appropriation Bill by the state legislature, we have empowered the executive arm of government to continue to deliver good governance to various communities in the state and to touch all sectors of the state economy for optimal productivity.

“This budget passage is an encouragement to our working governor, Chief Willie Obiano, to continue his good works in the state”.
