Otolo Nnewi marks day in style

OTOLO Day has been a date that usually attracts huge attendance of all the notables in Nnewi community.

Igwe Dr Keneth Orizu opened the Otolo Day celebration with kolanut breakings, blessings and good wishes. He commended the effort of the Otolo Nnewi community under the leadership of Sir Boniface Obi, P.G. Otolo and his executive in making things go in the right direction.

Igwe Orizu, who was the Royal Father of the Day urged them to be their brother keepers as Otolo Nnewi people are from ages.

The president general, Otolo Nnewi Development Union, Sir Boniface Obi, had in his address in Igbo language, commended Igwe Orizu for showing them fatherly love and blessing them  at all times..

He expressed gratitude to an illustrious son of Otolo Nnewi ,Chief. Cletus Ibeto, whom he said had been aiding them both financially and morally.

The occasion featured award giving sessions, where some  Otolo sons that distinguished themselves in their various respectable fields of endeavour were recognised.

According to the chairman of the planning committee, Mr Emma Agba, Otolo Day is a day they carved out to appreciate their sons and daughters that made the community proud.

Among the beneficiaries are Obiora Nwizu, who described the award as a lubricant to carry the Otolo Nnewi slogan  (Igwulube Okutu) on and  Mr. Ifeanyi Ekwulugo (IYCON), who also thanked ONDU for giving him the honour and assured them of his continued patronage.

Chief. Cletus Ibeto, the event’s coordinator and speaker, expressed joy at the  turnout of the Ndi Otolo Nnewi and those that were honoured who eventually appreciated practically.
