Legal expert advocates change in Nigeria’s leadership

A  FORMER Chairman Awka Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association, Emmanuel Okechukwu has expressed dissatisfaction over the political situation and insecurity in Nigeria.

According to Mr. Okechukwu who spoke to the press in Awka, the failure of the national Assembly to put in place the necessary checks and balances at the inception of the present administration has turned around to hunt them.

The former NBA Boss who believes that there is a deep crack across the three arms of government, feels that the executive arm has a strangle hold on the other arms of government.

He passed a vote of no confidence on the executive arm of government for failing Nigerians and suggested a change in the leadership of the country.

Okechukwu  wondered what the fate of the nation will be with the incessant killing of innocent Nigerians, total disregard for constituted authorities and the deep rooted corruption in the land.

On the Igbo nation, he expressed regret that the race which has contributed immensely to the development of Nigeria cannot speak with one voice.

He expected that the current subjugation of the race on some current issues should be resisted to attract the attention of the international community.

On democracy, the legal expert regretted that the leadership of the nation has failed Nigerians, and wondered why there are unchecked injustices against ndigbo.
