NIGERIA Football President, Amaju Pinnick is optimistic that Eagles will be among the four qualified teams  to reach the finals of the competition.

The President based his belief on the fact that all outstanding allowances of the players have been paid up front even as he stated that standard of play was impressive. Pinnick noted that being the first to qualify is another moral booster to the fans.

However, despite these sparkling qualities’ Rohr has consistently maintained that his team is not among the best four teams to lift the AFCON trophy in Egypt.

His words “we are not among the favourites to win the Nations Cup trophy and it would be stupid for me to believe that we are still going to win it.”

Pinnick on his part while still maintaining his stand noted that Eagles and their manager have their fair shares and all expectation is that they should give their best.

“When you have a child and prepares him for an examination your expectation is for the child to excel and that is the expectation I have for the Eagles at the upcoming Nations Cup in Egypt. I expect them to go and compete for the trophy nothing more nothing less.

He stated that his expectation is not overreacting stressing that Nigeria is among the top four countries on the continent which if they put in their best should guarantee them a place in the semi finals.
