CHRISTOPHER Nkunku is refusing to sign a new long-term contract with Paris Saint-Germain as Arsenal continue their attempts to lure the Frenchman to North London, as reported by Le Parisien.

Nkunku made his name under Unai Emery at the Parc des Princes last season and has been heavily tipped to reunite with his former boss at The Emirates.

The Sun claims that Arsenal failed to sign the 21-year-old in January as PSG were demanding a substantial loan fee but The Gunners are expected to renew their interest in the summer. Arsenal reported in March that they were prepared to pay £30 million to bring Nkunku to England.

Le Parisien points out that Nkunku’s relationship with coach Thomas Tuchel has broken down while his agent, Jose-Karl Pierre-Fanfan, opened up about the midfielder’s frustrations recently.

“The playing time is insufficient. Christopher is open to a departure.”
