ENUGU State Police Commissioner, Suilaman Balarabe has called for synergy between the Nigeria Union of Journalists and the Nigerian Police for national development.

CP Balarabe made the call when the Executive Working Committee of the Enugu State Council of the union paid him a courtesy visit in his office in Enugu.
He said that since the NUJ and the police share a lot of things together in the course of carrying out their duties, there was an urgent need for them to work together in the interest of the country.

According to him, police and journalists most often share similar humiliations in the course of doing their jobs from some overzealous individuals, especially politicians.
In his words, “I believe we will work together and take this cooperation to a better level. Police and Journalists are one and will continue to be one for a better Nigeria.”

In his speech during the visit, Chairman of the Enugu State Council of NUJ, Rex Arum commended the police commissioner for his roles in ensuring peace in the state since assumption of office.

Comrade Arum, who commended the police boss especially the way his command and other sister security agencies worked during the last general election to ensure that there was peace in the state, urged him to sustain the tempo, promising that journalists in the state will continue to cooperate with his command in the onerous task of policing the state in particular and the country.
