Local govt commission repositioned for productivity – Egenti

IN LINE with the present management team of the Anambra State Local Government Service Commission’s vision of having a workforce geared towards value-enhanced performance, the commission is now repositioned for productivity.

The Chairman Anambra State Local Government Service Commission, Peter Egenti stated this yesterday at the event held to honour deserving staff of the commission at the Commission’s Complex,

Government House, Awka. Dr. Egenti commended management and staff for the effort made in transforming the commission, saying that those honoured have kept faith with the vision of the commission and that of the state.

“We have a dream of a transformed Anambra State Local Government Service Commission. When we came on board, we said we were going to instill discipline and make productivity count. This event is a motivational strategy geared towards the realisation of our dream;

a reward for punctuality, hard work, and sacrifice for a better local government service commission. All this contributes to the vision of the commission and positioning it as the best in Nigeria. We believe you are the best.”

In his remark, Head of Local Government  Administration, Ogbaru LGA, Engr. Christian Ugwumadu, appreciated the commission for coming up with a such idea that has transformed the commission, “The initiative is a laudable one. “It encourages staff for optimum performance.

Before now, the general latitude is worrying; a situation where staffs are no more punctual or diligent for reasons best known to them.

But with this strategy by the service commission, it take into account that they are being motivated by reward for punctuality and hard work and this makes them more productive.”

The roll of honour includes two staff each from the all the local government areas of the state, seven from the commission’s Think Tank Committee,  two each from the commission’s office and Local Government Pension Board. Immediate past chairman of the commission’s Think Thank Committee, Dr. Tony Anadi was honoured with special recognition for excellence and contribution to the transformation of the commission.

One of the honorees Ikwukanne Osita from Ekeusigo LGA, expressed his delight for the honour because hard work and sense of commitment to his duty has been appreciated and promises to put more effort to my work.

Another honouree, Chukwuemeka Nnachoe from Anambra West LGA, said he is overwhelmed with the recognition and will up his productivity to earn recognition when next the event holds.

The event was graced by Mrs. Uju Okeke, Sir Chudi Anyaeji, Chief Ugochukwu Ezeani, Lady Roselyn Ifezuluike all members of the Anambra State Local Government Service Commission.
