Statistician-General extols Anambra govt

THE acting Statistician General has commended Anambra State Government for being concerned and supportive to the association through programmes aimed at impacting more knowledge and best analytical skills for statistical operations, on statistical officers in the state.

Mr. Obiekezie made the commendation in an interview with newsmen shortly after a meeting organised for the elected new executives of the association recently at Anambra State Bureau of Statistics (SBS) Government House Awka.

He therefore advised the newly elected executives to complement the efforts of the state Government through sustainable quality service delivery.

In his acceptance speech delivered, the new Chairman NSA Anambra State chapter, Emmanuel Okeke, who described the outcome of the election as “overwhelming and unexpected” to him; thanked the members for their confidence on him through nomination and election. Mr. Okeke then called on the new excos to work in synergy with him to actualize the vision and mission of the association.

The new chairman also applauded the past administration led by Dr. Obiora Happiness for the progress recorded especially on the recently concluded National Conference, an international programme held in Anambra State. He promised to achieve more feats with his new team in order to move the association to a greater height.

Also speaking on the occasion, the Head of Planning, Research and Statistics (PRS) Department in the Ministry of Trade and Commerce Anambra State Mrs. Nkiru Nweze described the election as ‘transparent, free and fair’ and urged the new excos to work in alliance with members to achieve resounding success.
