NDLEA arraigns suspected drug dealer

NATIONAL Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) recently arraigned a drug dealer at the Federal High Court, Awka, in Anambra State.

The suspect, Victor Ndubuisi Unegbu, 27, from Ifitedunu in Dunukofia Local Government Area was charged with unlawful possession of 10.4grams of cocaine and 10.2grams of Cannabis Sativa.

The Presiding Judge, Justice I.B Gafai, adjourned the suit to  June 13, 2019, for hearing and ordered the accused to be remanded in prison custody pending his bail.

In a statement released to journalist, the state Commander NDLEA, Sule Momodu said, the suspect had been on the agency’s wanted list for long. He warned drug traffickers to put a stop to the illicit sale and consumption of hard drugs or risk going to jail.

Earlier, the Defence Counsel,  Tawobi Aku, said that application for bail has been filed as the crime was bail able, and that his client remained not  guilty until proven otherwise by the law.
