Igboka: Obiano redeems pledge

GOVERNOR Willie Obiano has redeemed the cash reward to police operatives/informants who aided the arrest of wanted suspects involved in the alledged murder of Chief Frank Anthony Igboka in Nimo and Mr Ndubuisi Nwokolo in Onitsha.

It would be recalled that following the shooting incident at Nimo which led to the death of Chief Frank Anthony Igboka, the Governor of Anambra State announced a cash reward of N5M to anybody that will give information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects declared wanted by the police

The governor equally paid cash the sum of N1m in respect of the notorious murder suspect, Ikechukwu Udensi, alias IKANDA who was equally arrested by the Police.

The Commissioner of Police CP Mustapha Dandaura, while presenting the cash reward to the beneficiaries thanked Governor Willie Obiano for fulfilling his promise and restated the command’s readiness to sustain it’s onslaught against crimes and criminalities in the state.

In a related development, the state police command has warned politicians to repaint their branded campaign vehicles as hoodlums use them to perpetrate crimes.

In a release signed by the command’s public relation officer, SP Haruna Mohammed, said that information at the disposal of the Anambra State Police Command revealed that hoodlums in the state are using branded and unmarked/tinted vehicles with covered plate numbers to perpetrate crimes in the state in order to avoid being detected  by the law enforcement agencies.

“In view of the foregoing, the Commissioner of Police, CP Mustapha Dandaura, has ordered with immediate effect the arrest and prosecution of persons using unmarked/ tinted and masked vehicles without authorization and further enjoined politicians in the state to repaint their branded campaign vehicles on or before 1/6/2019 or the command will be left with no option than to impound such vehicles since electioneering campaigns are over.

Also, the CP warned that any security personnel found escorting their principal with an unmarked vehicle or those with covered vehicle number plates will be arrested and dealt with accordingly.
