NOA boss extols Rotary Club’s humanitarian services

THE State Director, National Orientation Agency (NOA), Awka, Charles Nwoji, has commended the unparalleled humanitarian services of the Rotary Club of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Rotary International District 9141, Nigeria in the society.

The NOA Director, who made the commendation while playing host to the new president elect of the club, Rotarian Kanayochukwu Obidigbo, who paid him an unscheduled courtesy visit in his office in Awka, alongside his entourage, maintained that the issue of community service has remained the center base of the club.

Nwoji, who said that the visit was a surprise to him, noted that he will never fail to express his happiness with the club, stressing that he has come to find out that the focus of the club was not elitist as was formerly perceived, but about the promotion and projection of the good of greater percentage of the people in the society.

The NOA boss, who also spoke on the four cardinal wheels of the club, which he said centered on community service, cited plus as some of the human-oriented programmes of the club in the state and elsewhere, promising that he will not hesitate to do all expected of him in supporting the programmes of the club in the state.

The president-elect, Kanayochukwu Obidigbo, said that they deemed the visit necessary to officially inform the NOA boss on the forthcoming induction and installation of the 10th President of the Rotary in August.

According to him, the outgoing president, Mrs. Ifeoma Obi, Board of Directors and the entire executive members of the Rotary Club have nominated the NOA Director for a distinguished professional excellence award during the installation exercise.

Contributing, Rotarian Abuchi Nwozor of Anambra Broadcasting Service, Awka, thanked Mr. Nwoji for his warm reception, not minding that he was not informed about the visit and charged the entire NOA staff to work towards developing interest in the humanitarian activities of the club.
