Anambra lawmakers hold first plenary Call for road maintainance

THE 7th Assembly of Anambra State has kick started its representation as the first plenary recorded great enthusiasm as members reassured constituents of quality representation.

Speaker, Anambra States House of Assembly, Uche Victor Okafor, in his speech, expressed optimism that the present assembly through his leadership will perform beyond expectation.

According to Okafor, “May I use this opportunity to congratulate distinguished members of the National Assembly both the Senate and House of Representatives from Anambra State on their successful inauguration. I urge them to exhibit good legislative business.

” It is my believe that together, we shall continue to make Anambra State great even as this 7th Assembly has pledged to contribute immensely towards the peace and progress of the state.

“As the head of this assembly, I am going to do my best with my principal officers to give assistance to all of you…|”

It would be recalled that the 7th Assembly was inaugurated on June 12, 2019, with 29 men and one female.

The law makers in their separate submissions thanked their constituents for their solidarity, love, trust and support and for giving them the opportunity to represent them at the red chambers.

The 7th Assembly called on the Commissioner of Works to as a matter of urgency, fix the bad roads in the state as soon as possible in order to escape the erosions related with the rainy seasons.

In their words “we call on the Commissioner of Lands to rush to the various parts of the state that need to be fixed. It will save cost to maintain a road then to construct a new one.

They described the state of some roads in some parts of the state as  death traps.

“We also call on the road and maintenance agency to move to site with immediate effect and make the roads accessible.

The legislators also called on the Commissioner for Health to intervene in the poor nature of primary health care centers especially the one at Igbariam.

The lawmakers also called the attention of the commissioner to the General Hospital in Enugu Ukwu which is in a sorry state. It is a glorified chemist, Ifediorramma lamented

The legislators however pledged that they will utilize the privilege giving to them by their people through proper representation. The best is yet to come. They boasted

The legislators lauded the leadership of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) led by the National Chairman, Victor Ike Oye and the Governor of Anambra State, Willie Obiano for their support during their campaign and for their wisdom in piloting APGA.
