LG boss urges successor on good governance

OUTGOING Chairman of Ihiala Local Government Area, Ifeanyi Odumegwu has urged the incoming chairman, Greg Okafor to consolidate on the developmental strides recorded by his administration, attributing his successes to the  good working  relationship he had with his staff and conducive environment he created at the local government secretariat.

Odumegwu  who in a chat with National Light , said that he renovated the  buildings at the secretariat, built new 12 rest rooms, furnished the offices, built a recreation park inside the local government headquarters among others.

According to him, the recent validation and verification exercise conducted by the state government in all the local government areas was successful at Ihiala because all the staff were punctual to work, and dedicated to duty.

He urged the staff to cooperate with the incoming chairman, warning that he is a no nonsense person, adding that if they do well, they will enjoy him more, because of his goodness.

Those who also spoke with National Light were Mr  Marcel Metu, the  local government information officer,  Mrs. Gift Okwuoma of  health department and  Ifeanyi Ezeobi who commended the outgoing  chairman  for the good job he did at the secretariat.
