Unubi Devp Union elects new exco

THE People of Unubi in Nnewi South Local Government have elected new executive committee to run the town’s administration for the next tenure.

The Chairman of the Electoral Committee, Mr. Luke Amobi, before the election, spelt the guidelines to the exercise at Etitinabo-Unubi Civic hall, where all the branches of Unubi Development Union (U.D.U) in the federation gathered to participate on delegate level.

The elecition, which can well be described as most cordial did not witness any hissing reaction and went peacefully as the eligible and delegated voters comported themselves in an enviable manner.

Chief Cos Abanobi was unanimously elected as President General of the community.

The newly elected P.G. Chief Cos Abanobi told our correspondent after the election that other elected executive members are illustrious sons who have burning desire for progress and peace of the community and promised to run open door administration.

The outgoing P.G. Dr. Josiah Okonkwo, expressed satisfaction in the way and manner everything about the election was conducted. He used the opportunity to thank the people of Unubi for the support they gave to his outgoing administration and enjoined them to extend such faith to the incoming administration for greater achievements.

A representative of Anambra State Association of Town Unions expressed happiness that the presidential election did not bring any rancor, bitterness or confusion after the exercise.

He commended the people of Unubi for their peaceful conduct throughout the processes.

Past P.Gs, like Sir Sunday Anaekwe and others graced the event.
