Uzoezie, Okafor solicit national prayer to end Nigeria’s security challenges

A lady of the Papal Knights of the Catholic Church, Cordelia Ego Uzoezie has recommended prayer as a veritable instrument towards checkmating the increasing wave of insurgency in Nigeria.

Dr. Uzoezie in a press release reacting to the threats of the Fulani Herdsmen and the suspension of the Ruga policy by the federal government and the general insecurity in Nigeria, called on Christians to unite in very strong terms to seek the face of God through sincere prayers and activities that will glorify God.

Dr. Uzoezie, the immediate past  provost, Nwafor Orizu College of Education,  Nsugbe,  a former   Commissioner  for Women Affairs and Social Development  in Anambra State, and a two-time president of the Catholic Women Organization in Awka Catholic Diocese, further  expects Christians to rise to the challenge of defending their faith.

She frowned at the wanton destruction of innocent lives in the country which has assumed an astronomical increase.

In a related development, the Senior Special Assistant to the governor on Religious Matters, Brigadier  General Anselem  I. Okafor expressed worry over the general insecurity in the country and expects all Christians to declare  a national day of prayer for Nigeria.

According to the Brigadier, group known as Nigeria Prays has visited him to declare its  intention to organize a  prayer session for God’s  intervention in the affairs of the country.
