PLANS are afoot by South West Governors to establish security architecture in August, 2019.

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State made this known at the weekend while speaking at a special thanksgiving service in honour of his mother, Madam Abigail Makinde at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Yemetu, Ibadan.

He  said the governors of the Southwest region have agreed to launch new security architecture in August 1 adding that Oyo State would also launch a state-wide security system before his 100 days in office.

“I and other governors of South West region have met on how to launch new security architecture before the end of August 2019,” he said.

A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Mr. Taiwo Adisa noted that the South West governors have been meeting to find lasting solutions to the security challenges in the region.

Governor Makinde while reacting to issue raised by the officiating clergy, Venerable Samuel Osungbeju, which harped on the rising waves of insecurity in the land, said the governors would leave no stone un-turned to secure the Southwest.

Earlier in a sermon, Venerable Osungbeju called for love and tolerance among Nigerians, adding that people should always show love to other fellow human beings.

Venerable Osungbeju said no nation or state could prosper without love among its people, pointing out that incessant maiming and killing of innocent citizens across the country called for concerted prayers and divine intervention.
