Citizen decries growing mischief as police nab Fr. Mbaka’s impersonators

SOCIAL crusader and leader, ‘Better Society Initiative’, Magnus Uche has berated societal leaders for the growing perfidy and lack of moral depth amongst supposed mentors in the society.

This was made known on Tuesday, while speaking with National Light reporters on arrest of alleged self professed minister of God in Fegge, Onitsha South Local Government, Anambra State by the police on Sunday, for impersonating the Catholic priest of the Adoration Ministry, Enugu, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka and defrauding unsuspecting members of the public in the process.

“The unholy conducts of some people in position of authority both in religious and socio-political circles are becoming worrisome to concerned minds. These are people who are being looked up to as models in the society but they end up disappointing the society with their misconducts. It is really unfortunate”.

According to reliable account, the alleged impersonator, whose name is yet to be ascertained, had reportedly swindled a businessman in the area of the sum of N3m.

Fegge Divisional Police Officer, Rabiu Garba, in a statement made available to the media, said that the suspect is presently helping the police with their investigation.

He further stated that N2m had been recovered from him, while efforts are being intensified to retrieve the remainder.

“Our detectives have also arrested members of a syndicate, who duped a building materials dealer of N1.2m worth of goods in Ukpor, Nnewi South Local Government Area of Anambra State”, Garba added.
