Women urged to imbue virtue in their homes

MOTHERS have been urged to build their homes in the fear of God, love their husbands and be vigilante not to allow social vices creep into their families.

The call was made recently during  St. Peters Church, Oba, Home & Abroad Women August General Meeting at Oba, Idemili South Local government Area .

In her address, the President, Mrs. Chinyere Egwuenu, while  speaking on the theme, ‘Standing firm in the faith’ admonished women to be faithful to God both in their homes and the church.

“Please mothers, be watchful in your homes especially in this untoward generation replete with various social vices. You shouldn’t allow your family to go astray. Our children are our future.

“For instance cultism has penetrated primary and secondary schools. Don’t relent. Watch your children and wards. Know the things they engage in, their friends, monitor their schooling activities and language.

“Some young men who are homosexuals now wear pampers as a result of injury acquired during the act. Mothers should be faithful and raise children that fear God”, said Egwuenu.

Meanwhile, presenting a seminar titled, ‘Family Living’, Mrs. Ngozi Onwuka advised wives to go back to their first love, saying that some women after bearing children no longer cherish their husbands.

She said that some mothers become so busy that they forget that as helpmates, their first responsibilities are  their husbands, urging them to shun depriving their husbands of sexual intercourse

“Wives should go back to the love they shared with their husbands before marriage. Your first responsibility in your family is your husband. Avoid communication gap and sex deprivation.

“Sex deprivation may come as a result of work stress but if you keep turning down your spouse who needs you to ease his own stress he may go outside thereby complicating problems in the family.

“Some women who flirt because of keeping bad friends can call other man pet names but their husbands are  Papa Emeka, etc. Let the bible condemn you”, said Onwuka.

Moreover, Vice President, Mrs. Mercy Obikobe encouraged every woman to be prayerful, saying that many things will come as storms of life but they should stand firm through hard times.

However, the Secretary, Mrs Amauche-Francis Ezinwa revealed that the funds realized during the women’s meeting were used to undertake meaningful projects like assisting the less privileged, the sick, church building projects.
