This is to ensure that young people from the state are given added impetus to not only make them globally competitive, but also excel in every area of discipline they may invest their talent.

Gov. Willie Obiano reiterated this commitment on Tuesday,  while addressing youths at an event at Dr. Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka to mark the 2019 annual International Youth Day celebration under the theme of “Transforming Education.”

According to the governor, the state will continue with massive investments in harnessing potentials of Anambra youths, particularly in areas of their skill acquisition and empowerment, as well as providing basic amenities in various communities to step up social life.

Obiano stated that over 52 percent of his appointees are youths, adding that plans are also afoot for establishment of a film village and upgrading of sports facilities in schools among others.

Earlier in an address, Anambra State Commissioner for Youth Entrepreneurship and Creative Economy, Mr. Afam Mbanefo, explained that education is not only acquired through formal schooling but also training in various entrepreneurship skills to ensure that youths are meaningfully engaged.

This, he said, is where Gov. Obiano has always kept up to speed in line with global best practices.
