Anambra has done well – Ifedioranma

Published

on

Timothy Ifedioranma is the member, representing Njikoka I Constituency in Anambra State House of Assembly. He spoke to EMEKA CHIAGHANAM on how far the state has gone.

WHAT do you think of Anambra at 28?

It has been a good one, especially with the recent All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Government. APGA Government has really brought about much development. At 28, we can beat our chest and say we have done well. We may not have attained the desired height but there is room for improvement.

When you compare Anambra to other states created the same time with it and some states with mega resources, you will appreciate that we have reasonably done well. Gov. Willie Obiano has set pace in developmental strides in virtually all the sectors. We will consider ourselves blessed at 28.

In the area of security, we have appreciatively done well. This has enabled the socio-economic growth of the state. Even in agriculture, we have done very well. You can see so many innovations and expansions that are taking place in that sector. Anambra has the best network of roads in the country.

Has the state met expectations?

The state met expectations. You see people coming home because of secured environment, besides the enabling environment for investment. We have done well, but there is room for improvement.

What do you think of Anambra in the next 10 years?

We have a bright feature considering APGA government policies. The state has been blessed from Peter Obi, who did well to Gov. Willie Obiano, who is taking the state to a higher level. Gov Obiano has really defined governance and other states are photocopying what we are doing in virtually all sectors. We are appealing to ndi Anambra to continue to support this government and incoming government, which of course APGA will produce. So we pray that ndi Anambra will understand that he will hand the baton over to somebody who will run with it.

What is your dream for Anmabra State in the next 10 years?

I would love to see Anambra State turn to Dubai of Nigeria and Africa, a state with international repute for all positive indices of growth and development.
