ANAMBRA State Health Insurance Agency, under the leadership of Dr. Simeon Onyemaechi has taken the scheme’s  “adoption model message” to ndi Anambra living in the United States of America.

The message was delivered to them by  Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Anambra ASHI, Dozie Okpalaugo, when he attended the 2019 convention of Abatete USA INC. held in California, USA.

Dozie said that ” Gov. Willie Obiano has developed a comprehensive health package for ndi Anambra through the establishment of ASHIA. Our people now have access to quality and affordable healthcare services anywhere in the state with just N12000 per annum, per person”.

‘The scheme covers a whole lot, including surgeries. After receiving treatment, the beneficiary is expected to pay just 10% of the total health bill, i.e if the person’s bill is N128,000, he is expected to pay just N12,800, while ASHIA pays the rest”.

What that means is that anybody – civil servants, farmers, petty traders, business men/women and others now have unrestricted access to affordable and quality healthcare services in the state.’

‘ As passionate ndi Anambra, I am here to appeal to you to utilise the opportunity this ‘adoption model’ offers and register your people in Anambra under the scheme’.

In conclusion,  Okpalaugo appreciated the ASA- USA for their annual medical missions in the state. He noted that the medical tours had largely helped the  people but advised that since a comprehensive plan has been developed, they should key in and register their people under the scheme instead of continuing with medical missions whose effects are very temporal and on huge cost.

Responding, the President General of Abatete Town Union in USA, Rev father Sylvester Nnaso, thanked Okpalaugo for the message and Gov. Obiano for continuously implementing good policies for the benefit of the  people.

He promised that the union would liaise with the PG at home and work out modalities on how to register ndi Abatete under the scheme.

Others who were present included; Igwe  Chinyelugo Emeka Efobi of Abatete, some of his cabinet chiefs from Nigeria and others.
