Let knowledge lead – Samson Eya

IN THE next 10 to 50 years, I see Anambra still leading as the light of the Nation in the quality of men she produces which serve the state, the nation – Nigeria and the international communities; as she did in the persons of Okonjo Iweala, Emeka Anyaoku, Dora Akunyili and others.

The physical transformation of the state, especially in quality housing is great as well as road infrastructure. The school system is organised and the teachers are enabled by up-date computer aided facilities.

All greatness come from God as the Psalmist declared in Psalm 115:3 and also the appointment of kings/priest (Psalm 110). So, any leadership desire without explicit reliance on God will eventually crumble. So, decision that offend God must seriously be avoided like support of abortion and any form of shedding of Innocent blood.

Ndi Anambra, like other Igbo race, are widely traveled. The experience, the people have gathered from all parts of the world should be tapped. Create “forum” for idea sharing (think tank or bank).

Anambra happens to house the largest market in Africa – Onitsha and therefore great cash in-flow into the state. A good population of the state men are rich personally. Create avenue for pooling of cash resources to enable serious investment into multi-million industrial outfit, which will not only produce materials but will continuously train industrialists of all brand of men/women.

Let no form of education be neglected. No knowledge is waste; encourage both scientific and non-scientific education; since both will merge to evolve unified society.

Encourage communal values and play down on individualistic tendency.

Evolution of complex city like that of Lagos is not the best for its numerous challenges. Good transportation system that will hollistically unite the various towns of the state – Awka, Nnewi and Onitsha is a better planning alternative than drawing people away from these centers to any designed location. Ibo multi segmented town can become a better development model than metropolis like Lagos.

With the above few ideas, I wish the state to continue to be the Light of the Nation!
