New book, Kanu The Last Aro King to be released

THE first public presentation of Kanu: The last Aro King will be held on Friday, September 6, at Nigerian Institute for International Affairs, Kofo Abayomi Street, Victoria Island, Lagos by 10am.

An exciting historical and cultural novel written by Ernie Onwumere and published by Kraft Books Ltd with its foreword by Prof. Okoro Ijoma of University of Nigeria, Nsukka and Fellow Historical Society, Kanu: The Last Aro King tells tragic story of British invasion of pre-colonial Arochukwu and end of Aro confederacy as a regional power.

The event is scheduled to hold under the chairmanship of Chief Ben Okoye, Chairman DSV Group.

The presenter will be Managing Director of Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority, Uche Orji while the book reviewer will be Prof Ngozi Osarenren of the University of Lagos.

Royal father of the day is  Eze Ogbonnaya Okoro (CFR), the traditional ruler of  Arochukwu while Guest of Honour will be President General of Nzuko Arochukwu Worldwide, Mazi George Ezuma with Orji Ogbonnaya Orji as master compere.

Group Managing Director of Aiteo Eastern E&P Ltd, Sir Victor Ike Okoronkwo, will be chief host.

Onwumere says his his book is recommended for every interested reader seeking to broaden cultural knowledge on fictional representation of the history of ancient Arochukwu Kingdom.
