Man escapes death challenging cattle grazing in school



A MIDDLE aged labourer, Patrick Nnabuchi, narrowly escaped death for challenging herdsmen whose cattle were grazing at the  school farm in Amansea,  Awka North Local Government Area of Anambra State.

Narrating his ordeal to newsmen, the victim, who hails from Eha Amufu in Enugu State, said he could have been hacked to death by some herdsmen who brought their cows into the garden of the school for grazing.

His words, “I challenged the herdsmen whose cattle were grazing on the crops and cassava in the school premises. I was taken unawares when they attacked me from behind with sharp machetes. I had no option than to run away with the matchet cuts on my back”.

He said he was engaged to carry out some construction work in the school by the school authorities, stressing that the work was not yet completed when the attack took place.

“I have only reported the matter to the school authority”.
