FG tasks NCC on illegal data deductions



WORRIED by the way some mobile network providers  operate, the Federal Government has charged  the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) to check mate the rate of illegal deduction of data of subscribers by network providers  and work towards the downward review of the cost of data.

Minister of Communications, Dr Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami gave the charge at the  meetings with the various Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of  parastatals  and directors under his  ministry at the Ministry’s Headquarters in Abuja.

Pantami who set targets for the parastatals at the meeting  charged the NCC to bring to an end the issue of sales of pre-registered, unregistered and partially-registered SIM cards, especially as this can help in reducing numerous security challenges the nation faces. He also charged the Commission to ensure compliance with the maximum 2% Call Drop Rate directive to telecom operators.

The minister  urged the chief executives to significantly improve the level of their performance to reflect the Next Level paradigm of the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR.
