Police commissioner visits Nnewi Area Command



Commissioner of Police, Anambra  State  Command ,CP John Bassey Abang recently toured and  Inspected Area Command Headquarters, Nnewi, covering two local governments, Nnewi North and Nnewi  South, with six divisions of which three area commands were carved out of the original command that includes, Central Police Station, Nnewi, Otolo Division, Ukpor, Amichi, Ezinifite and Osumenyi.

The Area Commander, ACP Sanni Abdullahi Salihu, in his welcome address, acknowledged those that  turn up despite their tight schedules,senior police officers, men of Nnewi area command, PCRC , Members of Vigilante, among others. He  expressed joy for the visit of Cp Abang to Nnewi area command, saying, there is cooperation with other security agencies.

“These collaboration between the officers and men of area command has erased the inter -agency rivalry and other primordial sentiments which used to inhibit professionalism and productivity.

He added that Nnewi command usually organises meetings  monthly with market leaders, community leaders, Vigilante groups PCRC Executive, for good neighbourliness and security awareness, to wave crimes to the nearest minimum so that people will go for  their lawful duties.

In his recommendation, the Police Pubic Relations Officer, Anambra  State, Haruna Mohammed, expressed  joy over Abang’s achievement in three weeks in office.

Abang called on media practitioners and operators to strengthen the lapses and correction of hate speeches and reporting information that promotes  nation building. Other places visited were Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company, Chikason Group of Companies, Palace of Igwe Kenneth Orizu.

In their separate speeches, the Director, Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company,  Innocent Chukwuma , Acting Chairman, Otolo PCRC , Prince Ufondu,  President general, Ukpor CSP, Patrick Akwueze and others said the visit was an encouragement to Nnewi people.
