Rehabilitate Abacha, Oraukwu road – Legislators urge govt

ANAMBRA State House of Assembly has called on Anambra State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano to direct the commissioners for works and environment to visit the site of Abacha-Oraukwu road and do the needful before erosion cuts the road.

Member, representing Idemili North Constituency at the Anambra State House of Assembly, Arthur Ifeanyi Chiekwu, at the hallowed chambers raised alarm on the state of the road and called as a matter of urgency, government’s attention in salvaging the situation.

Chiekwu, who made a pictorial presentation of the road to his colleagues frowned at the difficulties two communities linked to the road have been subjected to. In his words, “this particular road has caused untold hardship to my constituents, as those with vehicles no longer ply that road, my constituents businesses operated along that road and within the vicinity no longer function as no vehicle agrees to convey their goods to the area anymore.

He attributed the development to the impassable condition of the road, while urging the governor and his team of commissioners (works and environment), to come to their rescue before things get worse.”
