Onyekwelu, Nwobi root for Anambra health insurance scheme, infrastructure

THE  State Vice Chairman of the Nigeria Medical Association, Dr. Jide Onyekwelu has called on the new commissioner for Health, Dr. Vincent Okpala to work toward strengthening the state health  insurance scheme.

Dr Onyekwelu who spoke to the press on his expectations from the commissioner stressed the imperatives of the health scheme in reaching out to the less privileged in the society; and hopes that the necessary machineries will be put in place  to ensure that designated hospitals for the scheme and the patients maximally from it.

The Vice NMA boss also called for the provision of facilities for the training of doctors at the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu  Teaching Hospital Awka.

According to  the medical experts, the gesture will produce specialist doctors for the treatment of various aliments.

Dr Onyekwelu further called for the a synergy between the public and private doctors and medical practitioners for enhanced medicare in the state.

On his part, the register, College of Health Technology, Obosi, Mr Paulius Nwobi urged Dr Okpala the Heatlh  Commissioner to push for the full accrediation fo the college to enhance its credibility and academic status, Mr Nwobi further called on the new commissioner to use his good office to ensure the infrastructural development of the college and attending to its other domestic needs
