Pupil smokes hemp, slumps

THERE was pandemonium at Olaoluwa Muslim Grammar School, Ado Ekiti, Ekiti state capital , yesterday,as a yet to be identified male student of the school slumps after smoking a wrap of Indian hemp.

  Our reporter gathered that academic activities was temporarily paralysed in the school as teachers and students struggle to revive student.

  It was gathered that the student was found lying helplessly inside the bushy part of the school during the lesson period by a prying eye.

  The boy was said to have been lured into smoking of Indian hemp by his colleagues who later dumped him in a bush after they discovered he had fainted.

  The student was rescued by teachers when the information got to them.

  Speaking on the development, some residents of the school area alleged that the boy slumped while his colleagues were trying to initiate him as member into a secret cult.

  They alleged that some of the students have turned the bush and uncompleted buildings in the area to a den where they usually perform their evil act and initiation.

  They called on government, school and relevant agencies management to clear the thick bushes within and outside the school area so as to prevent them from carrying out such unholy acts.

  In a chat with the guidance counselor of the school, Pastor Victor Adelusi, who confirmed the incident, said he received a distress call that one of the students had died in the bush, but on getting to the spot, the boy was still gasping for breathe and was later resuscitated by teachers.

Pastor Adelusi said that the student had since been taken home to his parents who confirmed the said boy has been engaging on illicit drugs recently.
