ANAMBRA State Government has approved an increase in
allowances of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members serving in
hard-to-reach areas of the state.
Head of Service,
Harry Udu announced this when members of Batch `C’, Stream II corps members
paid him a courtesy visit in his office at the Jerome Udoji Secretariat, Awka.
According to the
HOS, “the gesture is aimed at motivating those posted to interior areas of the
state.
“He thanked them for
their appreciation of the positive efforts of government and also in presenting
an award of excellence to him.”I dedicate this award to the Governor of Anambra State and the Executive Council
members who work to ensure the development of Anambra of our dream.”
“ Anambra remains a
home for you all, any time as the security and peaceful coexistence in Anambra
remains top to the government of the state,” Udu said.
He urged them to continue to stay committed to goodness,
truth and openness as they perform their mandatory youth service programmes in
the state.
Spokesperson of the group, Augustine Nomigo, thanked the
government for providing corps member the conducive and safe environment
throughout the service years.
“We are grateful for the increase in our allowances”,
stressing, “the award of excellence to the HOS is our way of showing that we
appreciate the kindness of Anambra Government to corpers.”
Director of
training, Office of the HOS, MrsNwandoObiano praised the corpers, urging them
to remain focused as they move to wider society after their stay in the state.
