Ensure completion of project in good time- Govt directs contractors

ANAMBRA State Government has directed all contractors working on roads in Anambra to ensure prompt completion of their sites within specified periods.

  Gov. Willie Obiano gave the directive while on inspection tour of an ongoing road construction across some areas in the state.

He assured of full support for proper completion in line with the stipulated designs.

The governor commenced the inspection from Nchekwube Road, Aguleri.

“This is 3.63 km road connecting Ezu River, Aguleri and Fr. Tansi Round About down to Onitsha.

“Nchekwube Road is one of the major access roads that drive the economy of the community and that of the state at large,” Gov. Obiano said.

Commissioner for Works, Mr Marcel Ifejiofor, noted that the road would connect Adani community and help to improve agricultural activities of the area.

The contractor, Mr Omenife Izuegbu, said that Anambra Government provided all necessary facilities to speed up the construction, to meet the targeted completion date.
