IN fulfillment of his promises in making sure all the roads
in the state are standard and passable before Christmas, Governor Willie Obiano
has inspected the on-going work on the Mmaduaburochukwu Obiano Road, Ogbunike,
which leads to Nkisi and down to the expressway.
Gov. Obiano, who was
accompanied by the Commissioner of Works, Marcel Ifejiofor, the Chief of Staff
to the governor, Mr Primus Odili and other top government functionaries during
inspection, expressed satisfaction at the standard of on-going work at the
project site.
According to Gov.
Obiano, the 4.6km road will be completed by December this year. He went further
to assure ndi Anambra that the state will rise from the ashes of mourning to a
realm of pothole-free roads, rapid infrastructural development across the three
senatorial zones of the state.
The traditional ruler
of Ogbunike, Igwe John Ositadimma Umenyiora, thanked Gov. Obiano for the
developmental projects sited in Ogbunike and encouraged him to remain focused
and relentless in delivering good governance and infrastructural dividends to
ndi Anambra.
Similarily Gov.
Obiano in keeping with his promise of commencement of road infrastructure
projects as soon as the rains subside, also embarked on the inspection visit to
Nchekwube Onochie-Ezu River Road in Aguleri, recalled that there was a massive
erosion on the road which had been solved, pledging to keep supporting the
contractor to deliver the project according to specification and on schedule.
Igwe Mike Idigo of
Aguleri thanked Gov. Obiano for opening access roads in the community, and
expressed that the road will open up the links to other communities and
ultimately to Onitsha.
