Ole an admirer of Kane

MANCHESTER United boss, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has responded to Roy Keane’s Harry Kane transfer message.

Solskjaer’s men have struggled in front of goal this season after they decided to sell Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan in the summer, with Alexis Sanchez also departing on loan to the Serie A giants.

Lukaku in particular was not replaced and that has heaped the pressure on the likes of Marcus Rashford since the start of the 2019/20 campaign.

Rashford has flashed his brilliance as he always does but United have only scored ten goals in nine matches.

Furthermore, Rashford’s inability to nail down a recognised number nine role in the team has led to transfer demands aplenty from fans and pundits alike.

Keane was the latest to jump on the bandwagon on Sunday following United’s 1-1 draw with Liverpool, with the former Republic of Ireland international and Red Devils’ captain insisting that Kane should be signed.

“Go and get Kane from Spurs,” Keane explained.

Former United defender turned Sky Sports pundit, Gary Neville chimed in: “You’ll be popular with Spurs’ fans.”

Keane responded: “Just go and get him. What are you all staring at? He scores 20 goals in a season with his eyes shut. Go and get him.”

Now Solskjaer has responded to what Keane said on Sky Sports in a pre-match conference ahead of United’s Europa League clash at Partizan Belgrade tonight.

“Roy is quite straightforward isn’t he,” Solskjaer told the press. “There are the Kanes and the Lewandowskis and ours are different types of players but I like someone who can finish half a chance and he’s one of the best but he’s a Tottenham player.

“Getting Anthony back will be a massive boost for us and that will help Marcus too. “I’m looking forward to the next few weeks with the forwards we have.”
