Watford vs AFC Bournemouth match preview

WATFORD held Tottenham Hotspur to a 1-1 draw in North London last weekend with a performance that suggested that a Hornets revival might be forthcoming.

With a little more luck, Watford might have taken all three points at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, though Quique Sanches Flores would certainly have taken a draw before kick-off.

Watford shared the spoils for the second week running having finished level with Sheffield United in their previous Premier League contest just before the international break, and overall, the Hornets finished level in four of their last six top-flight matches.

A first Premier League win of the campaign is still proving elusive however, and we don’t expect Watford to find that first victory against a talented Bournemouth team this weekend.

Bournemouth come into Saturday’s game without a win in three, though like Watford, draws have been common for the Cherries of late.

Eddie Howe’s men took a point from two of the three games during their recent winless run, and Bournemouth’s narrow 0-1 reverse at Arsenal was their only loss in five Premier League matches since August.

Having failed to register at the Emirates, somewhat surprisingly, Bournemouth were unable to score again when they played Norwich City last weekend, though in general the Cherries’ Premier League fixtures have been good value in the entertainment stakes.

Recent head-to-head statistics from Watford’s meetings with Bournemouth also return positive numbers, and the last six clashes between the clubs averaged four goals per game.

Alongside our over 2.5 goals and both teams to score main prediction, we’re tipping the teams to draw 2-2 in our correct score prediction. Both clubs have been picking up points in singles of late, with Watford drawing 66% of their last six games and Bournemouth drawing two of their last three.

Remarkably, Watford and Bournemouth finished all square in eight of their last eleven meetings since 2014, and we’re backing them to add another draw to that record on Saturday.

  PREDICTION: BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE
