ANAMBRA Mega Trade Fair with
theme, ‘Partnering with Government and Organised Private Sector for
Economic Advancement and Job Creation’, has been scheduled to hold from
November 25 to December 5, at Dr. Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka.
According to
Governor Obiano, trade fair is a time for ndi-Anambra to showcase their culture
and various abilities. It is also a good way of attracting investors to the
state.
Represented by his
deputy, Dr. Nkem Okeke during a courtesy visit by the Trade Fair Planning
Committee and Association of Anambra Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and
Agriculture (ACCIMA), at Government House, Awka,
he urged the group to
get in touch with the Commissioner for Local Government, to ensure effective
participation of all the local governments across the state. “Trade Fair
is our pillar, you all need to work with enthusiasm” Obiano states.
Earlier, President,
Onitsha Chamber of Commerce, Chris Ukachukwu, said the trade fair would be an
avenue for nd iAnambra to demonstrate that they are not only good outside, but
also good in their own domain.
Pharm. Ukachukwu
also pleaded with the state government to erect a platform for Small and Medium
Enterprises (SMEs), all local governments within the state, and manufacturers,
to display their wares to people, as such would encourage them to increase
their activities, attract investors and show that Anambra is indeed a great
state.
President, Awka
Chamber of Commerce, Pastor Stephen Nduaguba, who said the fair was for
ndi-Anambra, also urged everyone to make their own contributions. “This
fair would make us witness the skills of our people” he said.
